Hello FAST!

We are so close to the start of the season! The pool is anxiously awaiting the first plunge of our swimmers! New families-welcome to the club! Returning families-we’re glad you’re back! There are a few changes and new practice guidelines. Thank you for patience and understanding with these last minute changes. We are VERY lucky to have a season this year and grateful that Ladysmith Schools are allowing us into the facility. Many teams that we compete against are not having seasons this year because facilities will not allow them in. We appreciate you remembering this when and if changes are made last minute! We share the pool with the Trident Swim Team and for the safety and health of everyone we have made the following changes.

Practice will now start Monday, November 2 at the following times. We will resume normal practice times the week of November 16.

Bronze/Silver 5:30-6:30 pm

Titanium 6:00-7:15 pm

Gold 6:00-7:30 pm

Platinum 6:00-8:00 pm

Practice Guidelines:

*Bronze swimmers must swim either M/W or T/Th. Please stick to one or the other.

*Locker Rooms will be closed for changing. Please come ready to swim. Restroom use only.

*Parents are not allowed to stay for practice. If appropriate, your swimmer can be dropped off and picked up at the door. For our younger swimmers, parents may walk a swimmer in but will have to leave.

*Masks are required for swimmers and parents. Swimmers will be taught how this will work during the first night of practice.

Registration Info

Hello FAST! The season is quickly approaching. Things are changing daily due to COVID, but we are starting our season! The first day of practice will be Monday, October 26. Returning swimmers are encouraged to register online. See link under registration in the swim info tab or at the bottom of this post. New swimmers should plan to attend the registration night on Tuesday, October 20, 2020 from 6:00-7:00 pm at the Ladysmith School Pool. You can register at that time or online after your swimmer is placed on a squad.

Families are being asked to pay $50 at the time of registration due to COVID and changing circumstances. However, if this presents a financial burden for you, please let us know. Our treasurer will work with you regarding your remaining balance as the season unfolds. This will prevent possible confusion if the season changes and reimbursements are owed.

Thank you! We are so excited for our swimmers to be back in the pool! Get ready to swim FAST!

Club Updates

Happy Summer FAST families! We hope you and your family are well and hanging in there as we all navigate a “new now.” There are several pieces of information we wanted to make you aware of:

  • We need board members for the 2020-2021 season.  We typically elect new ones at our banquet.  Open seats include: Vice President, Treasurer and Volunteer Manager.  OUR CLUB DOES NOT AND WILL NOT FUNCTION WITHOUT THE SUPPORT OF PARENTS.  All board members receive a swim fee reduction!  Please contact Cory Verdegan if you are willing to fill one of the open positions.  Call  or text @ 715-271-1681.  Email: verdecoryslp@gmail.com
  • Wisconsin Swimming, Inc (WSI)  needs your support!  They are vital to running a successful club!  WSI is the local governing body of our national governing body USA Swimming, Inc.  They provide rules, regulations and guidance for club teams such as FAST.  WSI is a largely volunteer organization but with about 7,000 members across the state, hundreds of competitions each year and programs, teams and pools to service, WSI does have expenses.  Due to the coronavirus they have suffered a tremendous loss of meet revenues coupled with forecasted lower registration numbers.  As a result WSI will not be able to generate revenue like it has historically.  WSI has had to make the following cuts to program services immediately:  If WSI cannot raise revenue in a new way it will have to cut staff and additional services by the end of September.  This will have a negative impact on all clubs including ours!  To maintain uninterrupted services for our members and teams, WSI needs about $30,000 to remain operational until the majority of the annual registration fees come in by December of 2020. Depending on the ongoing impact of the coronavirus additional funds may be needed if large meets continue to be impossible.

There are 2 ways to support WI swimming…see the link below to make a monetary donation or order WI swimming apparel.    https://wistrong2020.itemorder.com/sale

USA Swimming

It is time to get your USA Swimming registration forms sent in if you want or need to be registered this year. Below you will find the answers to some of the questions regarding USA Swimming registration.

Who should register as a USA Swimmer?

USA registration is only required if you are swimming at a USA Swimming approved swim meet. USA swim meets include the WI Regional swim meet in Fond du Lac, Midwest Regionals in Minnesota, and all meets that take place outside of the regular swim season (i.e. summer swim meets). None of the regular season conference swim meets require USA Swimming registration.

When should I register?

The ideal time to register as a USA swimmer is between September 1st and December 31st. Registration is good until December 31st the following year.

How do I register?

The forms are all located on the NLAC (USA Club) page along with their instructions.

How much does USA Swimming cost?

Registration normally costs $84. If you qualify for the OUTREACH program, registration cost is reduced to only $17.
