HELLO FAST!

We hope you had a great summer! Swim season is quickly approaching and the board is starting to plan for it. Coach Emily and Board President Cory attended the Conference Meeting yesterday, which means we have a schedule! Check it out under the “meet information” tab. Registration information will be available in the next couple of weeks. It is typically in late October. We needs TONs of help this year because we host 3 meets, including Divisionals. There will be more formal expectations for parent/guardian volunteering so watch for that…more information to come.

We have two board positions available: Vice President and Volunteer Manager. These board positions come with 50% off swim fees. If interested in learning more, please contact Cory atverdecoryslp@gmail.com or 715-271-1681 (call or text)

UPDATES

Greetings FAST families! Our swim season is coming to an end. While it was disappointing to not have any meets, we are thankful that we have been able to practice for the last 3-4 months. Thank you to all families for being patient and respectful with all the changes and restrictions related to COVID. Below are several important items that you need to know:

  1. The last day of practice is Friday, February 5.
  2. On Saturday, February 6 we will have a “swimmer showcase” so that parents can see all the improvements their kiddos have made. Bronze will swim from 8:00-9:00; Silver from 9:30-10:30; Titanium, Gold and Platinum from 11:00-12:00. Only 2 spectators per family. Please do not arrive prior to the start time. This will help ensure COVID requirements set by the district are followed. Our coaches will lead some drills and talk with families about their swimmers’ progress.
  3. Please pay your swim dues for the season. Questions can be directed to Kathy V. at kathy@barefootpainter.com.
  4. To Titanium, Gold and Platinum families planning on the dual meet this weekend (January 30): it is still up in the air and we will make a decision by Tuesday. We are communicating with Phillips to see if their swimmers will be able to attend.

USA Swimming

It is time to get your USA Swimming registration forms sent in if you want or need to be registered this year. Below you will find the answers to some of the questions regarding USA Swimming registration.

Who should register as a USA Swimmer?

USA registration is only required if you are swimming at a USA Swimming approved swim meet. USA swim meets include the WI Regional swim meet in Fond du Lac, Midwest Regionals in Minnesota, and all meets that take place outside of the regular swim season (i.e. summer swim meets). None of the regular season conference swim meets require USA Swimming registration.

When should I register?

The ideal time to register as a USA swimmer is between September 1st and December 31st. Registration is good until December 31st the following year.

How do I register?

The forms are all located on the NLAC (USA Club) website along with their instructions.

How much does USA Swimming cost?

Registration normally costs $87. If you qualify for the OUTREACH program, registration cost is reduced to only $17.

Registration Fee Installment

We are thrilled that we’ve been able to stay in the pool! Given this, we are asking families to pay the remainder of registration fees by January 15, 2021. As you’ll recall, because we were unsure of how long our season would be, we only had families pay $50 at the beginning of the season. You can pay remainder fees via check–mail or put in black box at pool. You may also use the pay pal link found on our website. Each family needs to pay a $25 registration fee (one per family) plus the following amounts per swimmer. Please calculate a 10% discount for a second swimmer in your family or a 25% discount for a third swimmer in your family (taken from lesser or equal amount). Please contact Cory Verdegan (verdecoryslp@gmail.com), Board President or Kathy Vacho (kathy@barefootpainter.com), Board Treasurer with questions or concerns. Please also contact Cory or Kathy if this creates financial hardship for your family.

Bronze: $60 per swimmer

Silver B: $90 per swimmer

Silver A: $100 per swimmer

Titanum: $120 per swimmer

Gold: $130 per swimmer

Platinum: $150 per swimmer

There are a few changes and new practice guidelines. Thank you for patience and understanding with these last minute changes. We are VERY lucky to have a season this year and grateful that Ladysmith Schools are allowing us into the facility. Many teams that we compete against are not having seasons this year because facilities will not allow them in. We appreciate you remembering this when and if changes are made last minute! We share the pool with the Trident Swim Team and for the safety and health of everyone we have made the following changes.
